Food is at the center of our culture here in New Orleans, with a focus on both Cajun and Creole cuisine. Want to learn how to make the perfect gumbo? We’re partnering with the New Orleans School of Cooking to provide you with a unique and delicious experience for those who love food and cooking. On August 3rd—the day before Naughty N’awlins begins— join us for the Optional Tuesday Early Bird event, a New Orleans Cooking Class!

This class will show you how to create New Orleans dishes, sprinkled with entertaining stories of food and New Orleans history. You’ll get to enjoy it in a nice, sit-down-style dinner. The cost of the tickets covers the class, the three-course meal (listed below), and a wonderful venue with a great view overlooking the Mississippi River in the Jax Brewery building.

Watch these skilled and entertaining chefs and they prepare a classic Cajun/Creole meal for you! They will teach you the basics of Louisiana Cooking in a way you’ll never forget. Fun is a primary ingredient! Learn classic dishes such as Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Pralines, seasoned with history, trivia, and tall tales.
