A Visit to Sea Mountain Day Club Las Vegas

Loving Las Vegas

Today, we headed to a new spot (for us) in Las Vegas: Sea Mountain Day Club. I wish we had visited this place sooner, especially when we think about how much we have spent at day clubs and pool parties like Wet Republic, Encore, Moorea Beach Club, Tao Beach, and Stadium in Las Vegas. In short, we had a great time, and we wish we had visited this place sooner.

We had heard about Sea Mountain Inn before. Their first version was a beautiful place in California, and they have a place in Dessert Springs (near Palm Springs) as well as this new place in Las Vegas. This is their second and best version since they have been in Las Vegas.

What to expect

This is not a hotel or even what you would expect at a “swinger’s club”; this is more like a nice pool party with lots of cabanas, lounge chairs, and day beds, with the added benefit of playing here. There is a main pool and another area with a large jacuzzi, a couple of play areas, a locker room and a place where they have food and drinks available (included), a lounge with a large TV, and a couple of play spaces.

We really liked the large jacuzzi—it is one of the largest we have seen in the US. They put tiered seating and special lighting to set the mood. This is where we would hang out later in the night for sure (and it’s right outside the play area).

For us, the big draw was that the place is clothing-optional, and you can play pretty much anywhere. There just aren’t many places like this in the country, and it was refreshing to be able to drop our clothes in one of the lockers and relax by the pool for the day. We both really liked the music, it was mashups of popular songs with a dance beat, it created a great vibe for those who would normally go to one of the big day club pool parties in Vegas.

They have tons of day beds and lounge chairs, which cost extra but give you a place to sit and relax (or play) all day long. If you go to one of the day clubs in Las Vegas, you will end up paying a lot more for a day bed or a cabana, and you certainly can’t be nude or have sex.

One of the best things about this place is that it is BYOB. You don’t have to pay those ridiculous Day Club drink prices. When you factor this in, then this place turns out to be a pretty good deal because of how much you will save on drinks. It also allows them to skirt the restrictive rules that liquor laws in Vegas bring with them.

They also have food, snacks, and desserts included in the price. When you factor in that lunch or dinner is included, plus you can bring in your own drinks, then this really is a much better deal than any other pool party or day club in the Vegas “vanilla” world.

One thing that sets this place apart is the amount of fine art that decorates it. It would be easy to go out and buy a bunch of “Zen-like” art at World Market, but the owner has collected a lot of beautiful and historic pieces of art, and they are on display everywhere. If you are into art, ask one of the employees to show you some of their best pieces and take an art tour while on the property.

This venue does not allow any single men, which will appeal to some couples, but they do allow single ladies.

What to wear

When we say “clothing-optional,” I would say that this place is more of a nudist place because they ask everyone to undress. You can wrap a towel or sarong around you or wear a robe if you are shy. At night, there is a small “club-like” area where ladies can don their sexy lingerie to hang out and party (there is even a dance pole and a round bed in the middle).

We love that everyone is naked and on the same page. You won’t feel out of place because everyone else will be naked, too.

The Staff

We got to meet the owner, Dewey, who is a long-time pioneer in this industry and a real freedom fighter who has been fighting for the right for us to enjoy places like Sea Mountain Inn, which also helps the entire community.

They call their all-female staff the “Goddesses,” and we thought it was cute and accurate because the staff really stood out. At most Day Clubs, the staff is only there to sell you bottles and super high drinks, at Sea Mountain they are actually there to make sure you are having a great time. The “Goddesses” checked on us throughout the day. “Can I get you something?” “Is there anything you would like? Non-alcoholic Margaritas?” and we felt like they generally really wanted us to be happy (and we were!).

Marijuana Temple

420 Friendly

In Nevada, marijuana is legal, and Sea Mountain Day Spa embraces your choice to partake, while most places in Las Vegas still prohibit marijuana use, even though it is legal. They even have a nice area designated for those who want to fire up a joint. It’s about time that clubs and lifestyle events start to embrace marijuana where it is legal.

We see problems all the time from people who consume too much alcohol at clubs and events but have never seen a problem from someone who smoked too much weed (except falling asleep).

Sometimes, people are nervous, and they use alcohol to help them relax, but oftentimes, they overindulge, and we have seen people get jealous and even violent. As marijuana becomes legal in more and more places, we hope clubs and resorts will see the benefit of allowing marijuana as a choice instead of alcohol for people to relax while going to lifestyle events.

This was the first place in the US where we saw not only tolerance for marijuana but a dedicated space for consumption. Hedonism Resort has a dispensary, and we hope in the future, clubs will have marijuana products for sale, just like alcohol.
