Playrooms Here I Come
Hey Naughty Friends!
It’s been a minute since I have been to an event, but they are coming in hot right now. I’m looking forward to working next week in Atlanta and then in July at Naughty N’awlins’ 25th Anniversary. I am usually working registration at most events but next week I will be working playrooms which has been a hot minute since I have done that. Working in the playrooms is a nice change and I enjoy setting up the room and changing the beds, talking to everyone (quietly of course), and help setting the music, scents, and lighting. I even started using the same playroom diffuser scents in my house that we use at Naughty Nawlins.
So much has changed through the years with playrooms since I started working in the lifestyle. One thing is it has grown. I remember small hotel takeovers; I still work a lot of those. Working larger hotels, full cruise ship takeovers, private islands or beaches, and conventions. No matter what size or where it is, I love seeing old-school and beginners walk into our playrooms and get excited. I also like the different playroom setups, seeing the different color themes, and watching how everything comes together before anyone arrives. I usually take a walk around taking pictures for our blogs and getting ideas from other events. You would be amazed how we all help each other out. That is something I was not expecting when I was hired to work. The 4 different companies I work for all work and help each other out at whatever event happens to be going on. It goes beyond just the 4 it is, in my option just the way it should be. OK, back to the playrooms.
Being Vanilla and working for the lifestyle is a great gig if you ask me and introducing my husband to what I do. Well, I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sure what he would think. He loves what the lifestyle is about, when I first took him to Naughty N’awlins he was just trying to take it all in, I guess anyone new feels the same way. When I took him to do a walk-through of the playrooms, he was like “Heyyyy, now that’s what I’m talking about!” I just looked at him and rolled my eyes and laughed because I knew he wouldn’t go in during playtime.
Showing him what and how the playrooms work he loved it more, just because we don’t play with others, he loved the concept that others do, and it is great that we make this special for everyone to enjoy. He understands the concept and that not all come to play, some come to watch. I told him one night we need to both come watch and maybe learn something new or try something new. Maybe we will get to that point someday. Baby steps. Every little touch that goes into production, is what makes it more special for you and yours. All the couples I work with in the playrooms tell me they love being able to be a part of our playroom staff and see how much people enjoy the hard work they put into it just for them, then they say they can’t wait to come back and enjoy it after their shift. It just makes you want to be there even more. I hope you make plans to spend some time in our playrooms and enjoy your experience.
