Looking Forward
Leading up to Naughty N'awlins, we get so busy that it is hard to think of anything except trying to get everything done and ready for everyone to arrive. We get email after email and so many phone calls from people who are so excited and looking forward to the event. They are excited about the parties; some are excited to see friends that they only see at our events. Others are excited about the education we provide and the excitement of the new people they will meet and they hope they will meet new future lifelong friends. I love hearing the excitement in their voices and being a part of them having an amazing experience.
Having something to look forward to helps us get through each day knowing that an upcoming experience will be the reward for all the hard work we all do each day. Having something to look forward to helps us get through our roughest days as well.
Normally I look forward to the little things in life; my cup of coffee and Bailey's every morning, my morning meditation, cooking a good meal, and taking time just for me. In the days leading up to our events, I tend to look forward to getting everything done and hope to have time for myself before everyone arrives. During the event, because we work so many hours at the event, I tend to look forward to Sunday, because I finally have time to take a deep breath and relax. I always end up sitting in the lobby saying goodbye to everyone as they leave, while hearing story after story about each couple’s adventure during the event.
Once an event is over, we usually like to take some time off and relax before we have to finalize the event while we are already planning the next one. This year I was hoping for a couple of months of downtime to relax and be creative. But all of a sudden... my calendar is getting full.
I now have several trips to look forward to, the first one is this week and I’m very excited to be seeing my new grandbaby again. I wasn’t expecting to be heading back to Indianapolis, but I got a text from my Daughter-in-law stating that they wish I lived closer so I could babysit my new granddaughter (they were just informed that their babysitter tested positive for Covid), sooooo... I looked at how many points I had accumulated and saw that I had enough to book a flight for free, so I'm off to Indy to visit again and I get to babysit little Hazel.
Needless to say, I'm so excited! I'm happy that I am able to help them... I just love visiting my family. I have been very fortunate to have been able to visit them so much during the past 10 months.
Then around the middle of next month, “Naughty” Nicki and I will be flying to Vegas to check out the Ahern Hotel where were are hosting Naughty Vegas. While Bob, Sante and many others have seen the property, and have already made lots of plans for the upcoming event, Nicki & I have not seen the property and we want to get familiar with the hotel so we can understand the layout and help make plans for the registration area. We want to make sure check in is as smooth and effortless as possible.
We will only be there a short time, but we look forward to seeing the property and heading to Area 15 again. Vegas is a great place to visit, and we are looking at shows and concerts while we are there.
The next trip after Vegas that I am looking forward to is the Desire Greek Islands Cruise in September. The opportunity to go on this cruise came up and I jumped on it... and I decided to take Naughty Nicki with me! While I have been to some of these ports before, this will be the first time for Nicki and I so look forward to helping her to explore this new adventure. We have already been looking at the different ports and discussing the things we want to see and do. We also look forward to a spa day onboard the ship! We both work hard and this is a great way to thank Nicki for all of the hard work she puts in for our customers.
While we will carve out some time to work and answer emails, we are not working as staff on this cruise, so it will be a nice break for both of us. People always tell us that we work too much at our events, that we need to relax and have more fun... but people tend to forget that this is our job, to make sure you have a great vacation or event.
And just so you know… we love our job!
So, if you want to see me and “Naughty” Nicki not working so much, join us on this cruise! The date for the cruise is Sept 17 - 24, 2022. If you can get away, give us a call as we have a secret sale for this sailing that we cannot put in writing. So give us a call, we'd love to help you book this great adventure.
And finally, I look forward to getting everything ready for Naughty Vegas. That event is Oct 6-9, 2022. We just sold out the main hotel... but don’t worry, we have plenty of rooms available at the adjoining Strat. It’s just across the parking lot (you don’t even have to cross a street). If you want to attend, you better get booked now!
Whew! that is a lot of traveling I have to look forward to in the next couple of months. What are a few things you're most looking forward to in your life and how do you feel when thinking about them?
