Arrival Day
Our official date that Naughty Beach started was January 15th, but by then, a lot of our couples, and a few singles, had already arrived and were already checking out Zipolite. We met up with a few of the early arrivals and even did an early Meet & Greet at Noga Hotel and took a walking tour of the town.
On Saturday, most of our attendees arrived. We decided to keep everything at Hotel Nude because we knew people would be tired from traveling all day and that turned out to be a great idea.
We had a great band, called Before and After (how did they get their name? It’s because they always smoke a joint before and then one after every gig- LOL) and they were a hit. They sang classic rock covers, cool beach music, and some original tunes (some written specifically about Zipolite). Everyone really seemed to enjoy the music.
We had a special guest, Diego the Cellist, who everyone just fell in love with. He played everything from Iron Maiden with some Beatles, to Queen, and Toto thrown in for good measure. After the band finished, local favorite Cristina joined him for a wild rendition of Whole Lotta Love.
Sunday
We had a great 2nd day (now that people were rested) and we had a pool party at Hotel Nude. We just LOVE their new beachfront pool. It’s so nice to be able to drink a frozen drink, while naked in a pool overlooking a nude beach.
We got both VIP areas and a few bottles of tequila to share. It was a beautiful day in Zipolite.
Most of us ate at Mao Mau, the best Thai restaurant on the coast, and then we went to the Cinema to see the local band Red Ana, who plays some great old rock and roll for such young guys. They have an old soul and played some great music.
Monday
We started out at Hotel Naked for a naked Yacht Rock Pool Party, courtesy of DJ Sante, from Menage Life. So many pool parties are high-energy bass-thumping EDM parties, it sure was nice to be steps from the beach and listen to Steely Dan for a change.
This was our first, of many memorable field trips. We headed out to Ventanilla to see crocodiles, iguanas, a monkey, and a bunch of small deer. We treated everyone to some local food and drinks before catching the sunset on this beautiful beach The real treat was releasing baby turtles into the sea. A truly special moment.
That night, we headed to one of our favorite bars in town—Chizme, for a White Party. The place is simply full of rainbows (it is a gay bar after all), and the rainbows looked great with all of the sexy white outfits.
Tuesday
Our second pool party had us going to my house overlooking Zipolite. We had some great food (carnitas, shrimp ceviche & cochinitas) and lots of included beer, soda, and cocktails. It was a beautiful sunset and everyone seemed to love seeing what it was like to be a local.
That night we had a circus perform at Hotel Nude. We had aerialists, fire dancers, and a guy that did things with a giant ring that really wowed the crowd. Afterward, Montreal singer Mira, who became a Naughty Beach favorite, sang beautiful songs and even stayed late for at least 3 or 4 encores. No one wanted the night to end.
Wednesday
We had a chill morning at Hotel Naked for a relaxing pool party followed by our third field trip. Originally, we were going to hike out to Punta Cometa, the furthest southern point in Mexico, but everyone seemed to think that would take too much effort, so instead, we took them to one of our favorite spots, El Copal Hotel in Mermejitas Beach. It is a great place to relax.
They have the best banana and strawberry daiquiris, and the ceviche is excellent. There is an infinity pool, which was great for photos. We couldn’t be naked, but topless was no problem.
That night we had a Neon Party at Zen Lounge with some trippy UV art that we have used in many of our events.
Thursday
This was another all-day at the Hotel, first with a beach day and then with a great band from Puerto Escondido, the Tarantinos. They play a lot of classic surf rock, many songs you will find in Tarantino movies. If you are on Spotify, search for Tarantino Jukebox and you’ll get the idea.
Everyone really loved this band and gave them a standing ovation when they finished up.
Friday
Our last day started out with another typical day on the clothing-optional beach before our final field trip to Blue Bay for dinner and a show. This place is truly unique and gave our attendees a different perspective of life on the Oaxaca Coast. The coast reminds me of being on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, because of the cliffs and beautiful rock formations.
The food was excellent and the show was a real treat. We had the Mazunte Women’s Choir, which was not like any choir you grew up listening to in church. Their music had everyone up and dancing to the Latin rhythms as they played traditional music from Chile, Argentina, Columbia, and Mexico.
We let everyone explore on their own for the last night and many went to Chizme and we had a great crowd at Zen Lounge, where the Tarantinos played again. It was a great last night for those heading home in the morning.
Besides the highlights listed above, some of our guests went diving and were able to go right up to pods of whales which was a highlight for them.
Some of our attendees rented 4 wheelers and I got to take them on a few off-road tours. We even took a few couples that stayed on after the event concluded back to El Copal because they heard how great this place was from the other guests.
All in all, it was a fantastic week and everyone left having experienced a brand new location that can now be a future place they can come, to be open and free, unlike almost anywhere in the world. Next year, our dates are January 21st-28th, 2023. If you decide to come for two weeks, the next weekend is the local Nudist Festival, so book soon, because those dates book up quickly.
