Sex-Positive Organizations to Support During the Holidays
2022 really rocked the boat as far as our sexual rights go. It tested reproductive rights, brought Trans rights to our attention, and just in time for the holidays, the House passed a bill to protect same-sex marriages at the federal level. While we have a long road ahead of us, and there are plenty more human rights that need to be acknowledged by the government and society, we are slowly making progress and it’s largely due to sex-positive organizations and social whistle-blowers who brought these important topics to light.
These emerging issues surrounding sexuality are what inspired us to create the first Sexual Freedom Parade in partnership with Menage Life, which originally rolls during Naughty N’awlins. In 2023, the Sexual Freedom Parade will also roll in Denver during Pride in June, as well as Naughty Sin City in October just in time to align itself with Las Vegas’ Pride Festival.
We’re very lucky to work with the following sex-positive organizations who have helped support our events, including the Sexual Freedom Parade, through sponsorship, workshops/seminars, vending, and providing information and resources to our guests. Each has its own focus and meaning behind them and all are very important to the masses.
This year, while we’re feeling that tingle of holiday generosity, why not help support a cause that directly applies to you and your lifestyle? Here are the sex-positive organizations that have helped us all year long. Show them a little love and they will surely return the favor.
National Coalition For Sexual Freedom (NCSF)
Bob is a former board member of NCSF. Together, they created the Law Enforcement Outreach Program (LEOP) for lifestyle businesses and had sexual orientation added to the discrimination policies for two of the largest hotel corporate chains in the country: Cendant Corporation, Marriott, and IHG. NCSF was formed to be a BDSM-centric advocacy group and with the help of others, we were able to widen the scope so that they are now fighting for the rights of lifestyle businesses. NCSF helps their members and the alternative sexuality communities through their programs: Kink Aware Professionals, Consent Counts, Education Outreach Program, Incident Reporting & Response, Media Outreach, DSM Revision Project, Metamour Day, and “I am NCSF.” They provide information from surveys they create and legal research on issues involving consenting adults who engage in kink and non-monogamy. They also provide resources on dealing with the media, lobbying, consent issues, and understanding kink. Learn more about NCSF on their website here.

Woodhull Freedom Foundation
Woodhull Freedom Foundation derives from NCSF, its Executive Director used to be the Executive Director of NCSF. She wanted a broader scope for advocacy, so the Woodhull Freedom Foundation was formed to fight for sexual rights beyond fetish and swinger clubs. We have been working with the Woodhull Freedom Foundation since its inception back in 2003. They are “the only national human rights organization that focuses entirely on protecting sexual freedom and ending sexual violence.” Their work builds on the affirmations of individual rights contained in the United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Woodhull carefully cultivates and works to engage allies from all social, economic, religious, and cultural justice communities interested in affirming sexual freedom.
Their work includes fighting censorship, eliminating discrimination based on gender or sexual identity, or family form, and protecting the right to engage in consensual sexual activity and expression and doing this through advocacy, education, and coalition building. Visit their website for more information.
SaferSex
We’ve partnered with SaferSex.com to improve the experience on our playroom floor, in our Dungeon, and on our consent policies and how we communicate this information to our attendees. They helped make Naughty N’awlins an even safer place for people to explore their sexuality by supplying free condoms, and a team of sexologists, counselors, and crisis professionals that will be on-site and on-call to handle any issues or complaints that came up. The mission of safersex.com is to create awareness, educate, and de-stigmatize sex, sexuality, and sex-positivity. Safer Sex is working with national partners to help make the National SSA (Safer Sex Advocate) program a reality. Those partners have co-signed onto the SSA Program mission of taking action, and your participation would be appreciated.
Planned Parenthood
If there’s one organization that has been under attack in 2022, it’s Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people worldwide. Over the years, they have helped women cope with pregnancy safely and legally, provide STD testing, and offer safer sex options including the morning-after pill, as well as other resources to support the health and safety of all people throughout the US. We recently began working with Planned Parenthood, they were a sponsor and vendor at Naughty N’awlins 2022 and paraded with us throughout the street of New Orleans for the Sexual Freedom Parade. Any contribution to Planned Parenthood helps support the cause for reproductive rights and the safety of all those who are sexually active. Learn more about Planned Parenthood here.

Shameless Care
We always recommend getting tested before and after you attend a lifestyle event, especially if you play with anyone else other than your usual partner. Shameless Care is one of our newest sponsors that provide an innovative, convenient way to get tested pre and post-Naughty party time! They offer a discrete testing kit mailed to your doorstep, to conveniently take in the comfort of your own home. Results are mailed off, and results are delivered back via text message! The owners of Shameless Health are in the lifestyle. Over the years, they have seen THOUSANDS of people have sex at lifestyle resorts, clubs, parties, and hotel takeovers. They understand how people connect and play, and can get you with doctors who understand. There are no telehealth companies that allow for inexpensive throat swab testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, even though most people do not use protection for oral sex. Those bacterial infections spread quickly and are often asymptomatic in the throat. People believe they have a comprehensive STD test from their doctor, and usually, they’ve not tested for the very things they are most likely to have. Shameless Care offers all testing that is relevant to your lifestyle, when you need it, at an affordable price.
Try it once, or get a kit to take care of your testing needs year-round!
