WHAT IT TAKES TO CONNECT AGAIN
Hi Y’all,
I’m so freaking excited, filled with joy, and an abundance of love. Why you may ask? Because I get to see my Mommy. Yup, my mother. She’s actually my best friend and the woman that truly shaped me. Let’s just say the apple didn’t fall far from the tree in this case. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen her and I’m so energized just by the thought of her visit that my spirits have lifted. She’ll be coming to spend a whole month with me down in warm Southern California.
I’ll tell y’all the reason she can finally do this (and safely) is that she’ll have had her 2nd Covid vaccine by then. The trip is not planned till April and that will be well after her 2nd vaccination. I never thoughts these words would be escaping my mouth in my lifetime but here they are “I’m freaking excited about medical advancements and a vaccine rollout!”
Yes, part of the thrill is to be able to see loved ones, family, and friends again. For me, though, the freedom to travel again is what I’m most looking forward to. I think I got my love of travel from my parents. They have had me traveling to foreign countries since I was a baby. I have fond memories of a summer family vacation road-tripping across the United States, to see National Monuments and Parks. We even took spontaneous road trips to Mexico when someone in the family was craving more authentic Mexican food (I admit this was when we were in Tucson, AZ, so Mexico is just hop, skip, and a jump away). This was the family I grew up in, we picked up and moved since my father was in the Air Force, and also almost every summer we were exploring someplace new. Travel has just been instilled in me, as a great way to learn about other cultures and communities.
I have also gotten the pleasure of expanding my folks’ travel community by bringing them to our Naughty Events and Cruises. At this point you may be thinking, “What?!? You brought your parents? Are they in Lifestyle?”. To answer your question, no they are not in the Lifestyle, before me they probably would only have reference to the word Swinger. Now, I can proudly say that both my folks know the nuance of both terms. The reason I knew they would love our events and cruises is that it’s filled with a bunch of fun-loving adults and no freaking kids. Our events are a cast of characters that are truly themselves. I find that in a Lifestyle event environment you can speak more freely about anything, including sex, flirting, or more adult center content. A lewd joke about a nipple probably won’t offend this crowd, instead, you might get a burst of riotous laughter instead. Even though my father will deny this, I did get my lewd sense of humor from him, all those years in the military might have rubbed off on my childhood more than him. Apologies Dad, I do like my crass humor though.
I can’t wait till it’s safe for us to share belly-aching laughs together again, display our sexy selves however we choose, while booty shaking to some beats at some Naughty Events or any Lifestyle space. It’s starting to feel like that might actually become a reality again. I know I’m feeling it because I get to see my incredible mother. She still has to take precautions though and will be driving to limit her exposure to others. It’s too soon to tell now how the vaccine roll-out will be going by April. Travel will probably never be “the same” and it will definitely take an extraordinary effort from an entire world to see where this goes. Although, I’m more than hopeful, at this current time, that we will get through this.
