WHAT TO WEAR TO LIFESTYLE PARTIES

There are many factors that make a lifestyle party so much different than a vanilla party. They're more open to nudity, they have playrooms, there's usually great music and sexy live demonstrations. But a telltale sign that you're headed to a lifestyle party is there's almost always a theme. 

We're heading into a pretty intense season of costuming: Halloween is a few days away at the moment, then we have a plethora of sexy holiday parties and New Year's Eve celebrations to get dressed for, in New Orleans Mardi Gras follows right after the holidays (a huge opportunity to dress in costume), and with cruises like Groove Cruise (Jan 20-24, 2022) and Temptation Caribbean Cruise (Feb 14-19, 2022) setting sail at the beginning of the year, you're definitely going to want a few themed outfits so you can become part of the overall fantasy of your surroundings.

A fun project to start with your partner is building a separate wardrobe just for lifestyle parties—your Naughty Wardrobe! Have some pieces that coordinate with each other, as well as some pieces that truly make you feel confident & unique. Lifestyle parties are the perfect place to really have a lot of fun and create a sexy version of yourself in multiple forms. The key is to get some staple pieces that can be the anchors of your Naughty Wardrobe that will allow you to build costumes for various themes.

THEME: Sexy School

This is a classic lifestyle party theme! Everyone looks good in that sexy, academic, polished-up style that screams innocence & intelligence. Think school uniforms, cheerleaders, hallway bullies, sexy professors, punishing principles, and teacher’s pets. Probably the easiest to dress up for too, just take a look in your closet!

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Short skirts, collared button-downs, knee-high socks, pencil skirts, sports team shirts, cheerleader uniform, coaches uniform, sports jerseys/uniforms, glasses, coach whistles, and a good paddle for the extra bad students.

THEME: Neon/Glow Night

Things are always a little sexier in black light. Neon/Glow parties are meant to mimic the feeling of a rave with an erotic twist. This can be as skimpy or clothed as you want it to be, just as long as it’s fluorescent and you think you can dance in it all night.

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Neon bathing suits, rave tutus, neon fishnets, brightly colored shirts or jackets, anything with reflective material, neon makeup, neon body paint, light-up hats, and light-up shoes. THEME: Lingerie/Pajama Party

This one is pretty obvious. Of course, lifestyle parties are going to want to have you in your sexiest bedroom wear. Good thing there are a ton of different styles of lingerie and ways that you & your partner can coordinate (or not). It’s all about feeling confident with a dash of glamour & class. It’s also important to note that most clubs, resorts, and events with playrooms usually do not allow street clothes in those areas, so lingerie and nice PJ’s are always a must to bring to lifestyle events, especially if you plan on exploring the playroom areas.

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Bustiers, sexy bodysuits, garter belts, silky robes, thigh-high stockings, corsets, cute panties, g-strings, and feather boas. For men: silk robes, nice boxers, dress pants, dress shirts, (men) think Bond meets Hefner.

THEME: Outer Space

Get freaky & geeky. This theme begs for creativity, you can really go anywhere with this. You can go Star Wars or Star Trek-inspired, channel an extraterrestrial, be an “ass”tronaut, or whatever sexy Sci-Fi costume you can think of.

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Anything silver, metallic pieces, Avante Garde jackets and shoes, crazy boots. Of course, any alien or astronaut costume would be great.

THEME: Heaven & Hell

Are you good or evil—or maybe a mix of both? Angels, demons, and those in limbo come together for some sinful fun. Embody your truest form; look just like heaven with light colors innocently sexy details, be a devil in sinfully tempting dark attire, or maybe you’re a fallen angel—a tantalizing mixture of both?

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Wings (angels or demon wings), halo, horns, white lingerie, red lingerie, black button-down, devil costumes, sexy nuns, priests, and even JC-inspired costumes are all favored at these types of events.

THEME: Luau

Often a Summer theme in the lifestyle, this is a laid back, colorful theme that doesn’t require much. A simple bathing suit would be great, just add a tropical drink in hand, and don’t forget to get leid, and you’re all set! This is a fun theme to dress with your partner as there are a lot of matching shirts & dress sets in festive prints.

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Tropical/Hawaiian printed button-down shirts (guys), bikinis, swim trunks, sundresses, sunglasses, hula skirts, coconut bras, flower leis, sarongs and sandals.

THEME: Pink Party 

This is a theme that shows up on a lot of the cruises and resorts we work with. Pretty simple and straightforward—just wear pink! And yes, guys can totally pull this off too. No matter what you wear make it pink and you’ll be tickled to see how fun this theme can be.

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Pink dresses, pink shirts, bathing suits, lingerie, t-shirts, and any pink accessories that feel fun.

THEME: 80's Party

Most people you’ll meet in the lifestyle were alive during the ’80s and there’s no denying that the music out of this decade is pretty awesome and definitely helps get the party started. The style is also fun to replicate too and for some of us, we may even be able to dust off some things from our own closets to create this throwback look.

What to Have in Your Wardrobe: Anything from the ’80s! Off-the-shoulder shirts, leggings, mini skirts, band t-shirts, tutu skirts, leg warmers, cut-off shirts, beaded necklaces, lace gloves, jean jackets, brightly colored polo shirts, sweatbands, leotards, bustiers, vintage ‘80s prom dresses, and suits. THEME: Masquerade 

The oldest theme of them all—literally for centuries people have gathered in masks & cloaks to explore and celebrate their sexuality. Some parties with this theme will also go with an “Eyes Wide Shut” title. This is usually more dressed up and formal, accompanied with a cool mask (not the ones we’ve worn for the last year or so).
