WHAT NAUGHTY N'AWLINS 2020 WILL BE LIKE
After months of sudden changes, rescheduling, uncertainty and envisioning life during and after COVID, we're ready to get down n' dirty at Naughty N'awlins (Nov 11-15, 2020). Having rescheduled our beloved event during the pandemic, we are so excited to finally throw you the event you've been waiting for while making safety our top priority.
Although this year's event will be different in some ways, we still look forward to having a blast, making connections, seeing your sexy faces and just enjoying life once again. We know there's pent-up energy that needs to be released and we're so glad we actually give that to you this year.
We are working with the local city and state authorities to ensure that we have the safest possible event and we adhere to all local, state and CDC guidelines. Currently, Louisiana is bracing for a hurricane that will be moving through this weekend, so we will be finalizing all of the details once the storm has passed and city and state officials can resume our discussions about necessary precautions. Here is what we know for now:
Pre-testing is strongly encouraged
We understand that a Covid test is only showing if a person has Covid at the moment that the test is administrated, but we are still asking everyone to get tested within a couple of days of attending the event. If you bring verification of a negative test, within a couple of days of the event, we will issue you a band that shows that you recently tested negative. We will also have rapid testing available (at a cost) at the event.
If you have tested for the antibodies or had and recovered fro Covid already, we will have additional bands for you.
We want to be clear that this does not guarantee that someone does not have Covid, but it is one additional step that will help us create a safer space for attendees. We are taking steps to be the safest possible event that we can plan. If you are sick or you have any symptoms, we ask you not to attend the event and we will issue you a full refund.
Mask Requirement will vary
It's the beginning of October as we write this and a lot could change from now until Nov 11th (first day of Naughty N'awlins). We will follow any and all guidelines mandated by our city and state. Therefore, if you are required to wear a mask in public, please be mindful and be sure to bring your mask(s) with you. If you need help finding a mask, we have some great suggestions here.
Note: You will need to wear a mask during check-in.
Temperature Checks
We will have temperature checks at check-in and also at the entrance to the main ballrooms and at any bars on Bourbon St that we will be taking over.
High Sanitation Standards
The hotel will be sanitizing all of the rooms before we arrive. They have impressive protocols that we have reviewed for cleaning sleeping and meeting rooms and there will be sanitizer stations located at check-in and at the entrance to all events.
Spaced out parties
We ARE going to dance! We do plan on having our themed dance parties, accompanied by amazing DJs and swirling with beautiful lights and hypnotic beats. This year, our parties will be spread into two large rooms in order to space people out a little bit and keep it as socially distant as possible. Hey, more room to bust a move in right?
We are also looking at some Bourbon St bars where we can spread out and have fun while ensuring that none of our spaces are overcrowded.
Still educational
You're still going leave Naughty with a few new tricks up your sleeve. We will still feature some of our classes and workshops as we always do at this event, even though we are going to have a shorter roster than usual. The 2020 schedule will be available within the next few weeks.
A true New Orleans second line
Just because we won't have the Sexual Freedom Parade this year, which usually marches through the French Quarter, doesn't mean we can't celebrate our Naughty nature. In true New Orleans fashion, we will have a second line (find out what that is here) throughout part of the hotel, complete with a traditional New Orleans brass band and you following along, dancing and celebrating your sexual triumph through unprecedented times.
People you will know
With this year's Naughty N'awlins a bit smaller, we are reminded of the parties we used to throw when Naughty N'awlins first became a thing. The crowd was a little more intimate, making it easier to build strong connections. And over 20 years later, many of our friends now are the ones we connected with during the beginning times. For the loyal fans who have been coming for years and will still come this year, we are sure you will see a lot of familiar faces and rekindle connections you've made in the past. And for those who are coming to try it out for the first time, know that a large majority of the crowd are seasoned Naughty people, who know the lifestyle and will gladly make you feel welcome, accepted and loved.
Playrooms by Colette
We made a decision, after discussing options with our hotel, that we would not be able to provide playrooms this year. We heard from many people that were very disappointed in this decision, from people that have already recovered from Covid and wanted to be able to return to a normal life and have fun once again. In came Colette to save the day…
The owners of Colette called us to volunteer their playrooms for us to use for Naughty N’awlins. Colette has been a long-standing partner and supporter of ours and we are thrilled to have this option for our guests. So all of our guests will be able to go to Colette, which is only one half block from our new (NOPSI) Hotel and there is no additional cost. We are very grateful to Colette for stepping up to the plate and making their club a vital part of our event. Naughty N’awlins is even better than ever…
We can't wait to share this experience with you and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
