The Right Way to Get Tested for STDs (that you're probably not doing)

We know you get STD tested often, but we're 93% sure your testing could improve. Let us explain!

Gonorrhea and chlamydia are bacterial infections. They infect the genitals or the throat.

The infections are usually asymptomatic in the throat. That means you could have gonorrhea or chlamydia in your throat and have absolutely no idea.

Only a throat swab test can detect oral gonorrhea and chlamydia infection.

Do you remember your last STD test? Your blood was drawn (ouch) and a urine test. But did you have your throat swabbed?

A throat swab is where the medical provider sticks a giant Q-tip down your throat and swirls it around. 93% of people in the lifestyle did not receive this throat swab test. They only had blood and urine test, which would be fine if people didn't have oral sex!

If you have yet to receive a throat swab test, you've never tested for the infections you are most likely to contract in the lifestyle!

A lifestyle member founded Shameless Care to address this very issue. Shameless Care is a telemedicine company specifically and exclusively for the consensual non-monogamy community. There are providers in all 50 states who provide at-home STI testing (kits through the mail) and prescribe and ship ED medications.
